Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have reached the Final of the champions league even though they lost to Roma last night, the final score was 7-6 on aggregate and they will face Real Madrid in Kiev on May 26.

After a nail biting 90 minutes plus extra time Liverpool are heading to what promises to be an electrifying final after goals scored by Klaven (83’), Solanke (87’) and Clyne (90’) gave them the lead they needed, Roma had more possession of the ball and the shots on target were equal. You can not deny that they deserve to be there even though Roma will most likely argue that they should have been awarded two penalties in the second half.

Roma’s President James Pallotta has already been quoted saying that it will be “an absolute joke” if video assistant referees are not introduced in the Champions League after their knock out by Liverpool on Wednesday. Pallotta feels that his side had decisions made against them that we not correct, Edin Dzeko was brought down by Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius but it seems that Dzeko was wrongly ruled as being offside, another was in the 63rd minute where he says a handball by Liverpool should have been a red card and taken Liverpool down to just 10 men.

Klopp admits that his side needed a bit of luck for the semi final but in the end they deserve to be where they have gotten to. A delighted Klopp returned to the pitch after conducting television interviews while the team posed with a banner in support of Sean Cox, the Liverpool supporter who was badly injured outside Anfield when Liverpool faced Roma in their first leg.
